My name is Iza Swierczynska. I wrote "A Certified Letter" under my maiden name - I.Kubat. I was born in Lodz, the second biggest city of Poland, where I live to this day. I graduated from the University of Lodz in 1987 (faculty of English; specialization - English literature, master thesis on Samuel Beckett's little known poems and plays). For several years I worked at the Technical University of Lodz in a Foreign Relations Department, since 1993 my husband and I run a travel agency.

Since 1987  I've been married to Jurek (a keen mountain guide), we've got 2 children - Krzysztof (1991) and Julia (1997). 

My hobbies are -  books, music, travelling. I draw pictures mainly with oil pastels. I love meeting with friends and talking, talking - my favourite set of topics for discussion focus on religion, philosophy and psychology.
